From pro rider to pump track manufacturer!

PARKITECT History Part One

Find your inner child. Off to the pump track. Let's go!

Do you know that indescribable feeling when you free fall on a roller coaster? We believe it is precisely this weightlessness that reflects and manifests the feeling of FUN at 100%.

And that's also the reason why the modular pump track was invented by Erik Burgon many years ago. Creating moments that feel easy. Feel pure joy for everyone, no matter what age or skill level

A Teenage Dream

PARKITECT founder Erik Burgon in his younger years

A teenager from Vancouver, Canada with a dream

Erik grew up in Vancouver, Canada, where he impressed people with his bike skills in the late 90s. As part of a pro rider team, he tours around, building spectacular modular bike elements that serve as a stage for the bike stunts in the FLOW SHOW.

Where everything began...

With the FLOW SHOW, Erik is successfully touring the USA, Canada and Europe.

Finale Ligure, October 2002

There is also a tour stop in Italy, where the event organizer becomes aware of Erik.

In just 90 days...

...the unique “FLYDOWN park” is created, the first bike park in Finale Ligure with north shore elements

And made of wood, it becomes a big playground!

After the actual successful construction of the Flydown Bike Park, further orders and trail construction projects come. And the original teenager with a pro rider career becomes a bike park architect. The company name BIKEPARKITECT sro quickly emerged

From “Bike Park Architect” to “Bikeparkitect sro”

from Bikeparkitect sro to Parkitect

...and then the Modular Pumptrack comes into play! More about this in PART two of the origin story
