The modular pump track of the week

The blue bowtie in Brühl

The city of Brühl in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany did everything right. Since late summer, the city has been enriched by a blue highlight. A modular pump track, in Layout: bow tie. With the mission to get the Brühler rolling.

Rightly ours Modular pump track of the week, because here it just flows – in many ways!

1) Financing:

Thanks to the funding program “Modern sports facilities 2022The Brühler Bowtie was almost entirely financed with €34,500. By the way, two more (modular) pump tracks were co-financed by this special program in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The background

If you stand at a modular pump track for half an hour or simply do a few laps yourself, it quickly becomes clear: the systems are incredibly fascinating. You can't just stop, and if you do, you'll want to come back. With a modular pump track you make a big contribution to promoting exercise across generations. There are therefore many different funding bodies to provide financial support to both clubs and municipalities with their investments. This also happened in Brühl.

2) The target group:

“What bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller skates, inline skates, wheelchairs and balance bikes have in common? They can all be used to ride the city of Brühl’s new pump track (…) Toddlers, children, teenagers and adults can use the pump track equally at their own speed.”

What do we think?

Exactly like this: On the city of Brühl's website you can find these key phrases that make us happy. A modular pump track is not just for children, adults will also quickly notice that this feeling is simply incomparable. No matter what sports equipment. And who owns this modular pump track now? Well, everyone: Village, local and citizen communities, clubs and institutions are allowed to use this pump track. There are even no local limits to the bowtie. He can hike! But more on that later.

3) The (opening) event:

“Everyone in and around Brühl is cordially invited to gather and roll along with the mayor at the modular pump track on Friday for the opening.”

Let's celebrate

Yes! A modular pump track assembled. Here you can meet, watch, roll yourself, make friends, all in one easily manageable area with the track at the center. This also promotes togetherness and local community and even boosts the surrounding restaurants. Thinking even further: in addition to the daily pump track hustle and bustle, races or other events can be planned on the pump track. And to add the finishing touch to the local weekly market, Christmas market or summer festival, the pump track should not be missing here either.

4) On the move:

The Brühler Bowtie is allowed to hike. From district to district and from area to area, because it is not anchored to the ground and is mobile. What you need? Very nicely described in that Article from the city of Brühl:

5-6 helping and motivated hands, a surface that is as flat as possible and is approx. 10×22 meters. That's it!

Roll and go

And so the Modular Pumptrack can wander, be left standing for as long as you like, continue hiking, be stored if necessary, and continue hiking. And if at some point the bowtie is no longer enough, you can create a whole new flow experience by purchasing just a few individual modules.

We wish everyone in Brühl a lot of fun with the blue bowtie!
